Olivo Barbieri

Olivo Barbieri (b. 1954, Italy) is known for his landmark series Site Specific, spanning over a decade and more than forty cities worldwide. Shooting from helicopters with tilt-shift lenses, he selectively focuses on iconic buildings while blurring their surroundings, creating a dreamlike visual effect where vast cityscapes appear as miniature scale models. Barbieri never defines the series as documentary photography but as an ongoing exploration of the visual language of photography.
