Valery Katsuba

Valery Katsuba (b. 1965, Belarus) is an artist working across photography, video, performance and literature. His most celebrated series include Phiscultura (2006), Classical and Contemporary Models (2018), and Four Seasons, My Friends (2005). Placing contemporary figures in classical poses drawn from ancient Greek, Renaissance and Neoclassical ideals, he explores the evolution of beauty across history. His works are held at the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Russian National Museum (St. Petersburg), the Royal Academy Museum (Madrid), and the Shanghai Center of Photography.
