Zhou Qiang

Zhou Qiang (China) is a significant figure in Chinese contemporary photography. His work consistently explores individual autonomy within inescapable environments and the tension between individual and collective will in an ever-changing world. He works with film cameras, combining rational intent with intuitive spontaneity. Zhou has received the 7th Hou Dengke Documentary Photography Award and the 12th Three Shadows Photography Award, and has received two nominations from the Magnum Foundation.
