Interlude

Interlude is located within a time-worn historic villa in Shanghai’s plane-tree district. More than a physical container, it is a breathing, organic living entity—one that carries the city’s historical lineage while continuously growing into a free and unfolding present. We do not seek to overwrite the memory of the architecture; rather, we allow the old and the new, tradition and the contemporary, to enter into dialogue, acceptance, and integration, so that the space itself becomes an ongoing work of art.

Our spirit is rooted in inheritance—an origin that cannot be fully articulated through language. Using art and installation as our medium, we translate layers of accumulated history into a perceptible presence. True inheritance should grow vigorously and be shared generously.
