On which day of our lives do we first see green? It seems as natural as breathing. Throughout the cycle of life, green is never absent. When the eyes begin to gaze and the mind begins to recognize, there comes a moment when we are struck by a quiet realization—that our own existence is also part of nature. We are not only observing green; we exist in a way that is green. Human processes of growth, flourishing, fading, and renewal are shared with a single leaf, and resonate with the same rhythms and currents as a forest.
Green is the moment when we become aware that we, too, are participating in a vast and silent symphony of life. Amid overlapping traces of fragmented, dynamic, and unfolding signs and trajectories, flashes of life continually emerge.
This exhibition is a fragmentary record of a shared perception of life. Photography, in its natural capacity to preserve and transmit, becomes the medium through which artists entrust their perspectives and sensibilities, with light completing the act of writing. The emotions once born of working and living within the same environment—though embodied memory cannot easily cross the boundaries of individuals to be directly shared—can still give rise to new experiences and connections in the present moment. For instance, within a shared space, to gaze upon the same patch of green.
