Zhang Xiaodong: In-Between, Where Time Emerges

DUMONTEIL Shanghai is delighted to announce the solo exhibition of ZHANG Xiaodong, In-Between, Where Time Emerges, marking the artist's first solo presentation with the gallery. This exhibition takes the aesthetics of the Tang and Song dynasties as its point of departure. Within a self-constructed 2.5-dimensional space of “thousand pages”, it revitalises historical classics through material transformation and image reconfiguration. Between form and idea, it gives material presence to a contemporary sensibility, allowing time to leave its traces within space.

Against the significant backdrop of this exhibition, DUMONTEIL is also honoured to announce its exclusive representation of ZHANG Xiaodong in both China and France. This solo exhibition not only marks the beginning of their collaboration but also serves as a vital starting point for the gallery to consistently promote his work across international art fairs and diverse artistic contexts. The exhibition is scheduled to open on 18 April.
