Centre d’Art Rodin (Shanghai) is located in the core area of the Pudong Riverside, within the Expo Culture Park—the largest riverside green space in central Shanghai. It is adapted from the former France Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, originally designed by the renowned architect Jacques Ferrier, and occupies an area of over 8,000 square meters. The center is scheduled to open to the public in September 2024.
Centre d’Art Rodin (Shanghai) is the only officially authorized sister institution of the Musée Rodin in France worldwide. Its collection is sourced from the Musée Rodin, and the center holds ownership of the works along with certificates of provenance provided by the museum. The Musée Rodin also offers technical support to the center in areas including exhibition curation, academic research, public education, and conservation.
