It's Spring Outing Time!
China has a long tradition of taqing — venturing out into nature to take in the smell of new grass, fresh buds, and open soil. It's a physical escape, but also something closer to a ritual. In today's cities, though, the countryside keeps getting further away, and nature has become somewhere you have to make a deliberate trip to reach. Detourr's "Spring Outing" wants to give you an easier reason to leave the house. Before the plum rains move in, take a directionless walk along a river or greenway, wander through a neighborhood you've never been to, or visit these exhibitions that bring nature indoors — rainforests, pollen, fungi, bonsai, waterways, soil, sunlight, volcanoes, and glaciers, and everything else that unfolds from there.
Spring is getting shorter and shorter. Pick a weekend and go outing!
